These terms apply when you use groundworkbuild.com or sign up for a Groundwork website. By submitting our sign-up form, verifying your email, or paying to go live, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Groundwork generates a marketing website for your trades business from the details you provide, using AI. You can preview it for free. If you choose to go live, we publish it on your own web address (a Groundwork subdomain, or a custom domain if you buy one through us), with the first month of hosting free and no setup fee, then £4.99/month afterwards unless you cancel.
We build your site from the information you give us, plus publicly available information (like your Google Business reviews) we can verify. We do our best to avoid inventing facts, credentials, or claims that aren't backed by something real — but the content is AI-generated, and you're responsible for checking it before going live and telling us if anything needs correcting. You can edit text and photos yourself at any time through the editor.
You're responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for the accuracy of anything you submit (business details, logo, photos). You own your business's content; we don't claim any rights over it beyond what's needed to build and host your site. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to use, or anything unlawful, defamatory, or misleading.
Payment is handled by Stripe. The first month is free; after that, £4.99/month is billed automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account — your site stays live until the end of the period you've already paid for. If you bought a custom domain through us, domain registration costs are separate and generally non-refundable once purchased, in line with the registrar's own terms.
We aim to keep your site available at all times but can't guarantee zero downtime — we rely on third-party infrastructure (hosting, DNS, domain registrars) that's outside our direct control. We'll do our best to fix issues promptly if something goes wrong.
Some pages may include links to third-party products relevant to running a trades business (for example, business banking or insurance). We may earn a referral fee if you sign up through one of these links, at no extra cost to you. We only link to services we think are genuinely useful, and any such offer is between you and that provider — we're not a party to it and aren't responsible for it.
The service is provided "as is." To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost business or lost profits) arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law doesn't allow it (for example, for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).
You can stop using Groundwork and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, misuses the service, or is used for unlawful purposes.
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continuing to use the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
